Mrs. Sally Marie Fender Carr, 72, of Sevierville, Tennessee, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010.



Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Saturday, November 27, 2010 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Augusta Highway, Canadys.



Mrs. Carr was born September 16, 1938 in Canadys and was a daughter of the late William Earl Fender and Marie Bailey Fender. She was a retired cosmetologist. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sevierville, TN and a former member of Canaan Baptist Church in Canadys. She will be remembered as a kind, generous and caring person, who was an inspiration to many.



Surviving are: her husband John Stephen Carr of Sevierville, TN; daughter, Angela Carr Roberson and her husband Phillip of Canadys; brother, Dr. William E. Fender, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; special sisters, Carolyn Marchant of Canadys, Patricia Glasser of Mt. Pleasant and Cathy Pritcher of Summerton; granddaughter, Alicia Marie Roberson of Canadys; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Michelle Still; and a brother, Charles Riddick Fender.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Canaan Baptist Church Building Fund; or to, First Baptist Church of Sevierville Building Fund.
