Sadie Ruth Benton
July 21, 1946 — June 1, 2015
Mrs. Sadie Ruth Benton, age 68, entered into rest Monday morning, June 1, 2015 at her home on Oak Street in Bowman while surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, June 3, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church No. 1 Cemetery, 99 Pine Grove Road, Walterboro.
Born July 21, 1946, in Walterboro, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Fairey Wesley Benton and the late Reba Runell Lemacks Benton. She was a member of Barnyard Worship Services in Lexington. She will always be remembered for her love of people and for the special loved she possessed for her dog, “Baby”. She was an excellent card player and possessed a special gift at playing.
Surviving are: her children, Teresa Looper and her husband Jerry of Bowman, Rocky Cattles of Bowman, and Jimmy Benton of Columbia; and a brother, Larry Benton and his wife Jill of Conyers, Georgia. There are five grandchildren, Tripp (Brandy) Looper, Jarrett Looper, James Benton, Christopher Benton, and Jonathan Looper that also survive.
