Ryan Pellum

Mr. Leonard Ryan Pellum, 79, of Islandton, entered into rest Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026, at his residence.

Born June 20, 1947, in Ruffin, South Caolina, he was a son of the late Will Ryan Pellum and the late Evelyn Bishop Pellum. Ever since the young age of eighteen, Ryan has been involved in auto body work in some form and fashion. He eventually became the owner of Ryan’s Body Shop in Walterboro, which was a staple to our community for nearly thirty years. An avid outdoorsman, he dearly loved hunting and fishing.

Surviving are: six children, Sherri Crosby (Don), Donna Hawkins, Sheila Ackerman, Dorinda Player (Wayne), Greg Pellum, Jodie Fowler (Eric); a sister, Judy Valentine; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a grandson, William Rast, IV; a great granddaughter, Lexie Braxton; and two brothers, Bill Pellum and Liston Pellum.
