Mrs. Ruby Nell Cook Gaites, 86, of Sandy Run, entered into eternal rest Thursday morning, August 6, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Sandy Run. She was the widow of The Reverend Norwood A. Gaites.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon, August 9, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Homes, Ehrhardt-Bamberg Chapel. Interment will follow in Carter’s Ford Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born April 29, 1929 in Colleton County, she was one of nine children born to the late Walter and Dessie Sullivan Cook. She was a Lay Minister and faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy and served faithfully beside her loving husband in the many churches he Pastored throughout South Carolina. She loved the Lord dearly and will always be remembered for loving and caring about others. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who centered her life around her entire family. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers.
Surviving are: three children, Ruben Alger Gaites of Gilbert, Fonda Gaites Williams of Sandy Run, and Beverly Teno Gaites of Swansea; 9 grandchildren; as well as several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Benjamin Paul Williams; and 1 grandchild.
