Mrs. Ruby Risher Bryan Dees, 92, of the Ashley River Plantation in Charleston, entered into rest Tuesday evening, May 14, 2013, at the Roper Hospital in Charleston. During her life she was twice married, first to the late Mr. Edward Griffin Bryan, Sr. and secondly to the late Mr. Bethel Dees, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Saturday morning, May 18, 2013, from the graveside at Live Oak Cemetery, Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro. The Reverend Godfrey Ritter officiating.
Born November 9, 1920, a native of Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Ira Lewis Risher and the late Donnie Langdale Risher. She was a member of Evergreen Christian Church in Walterboro. During the latter years of her life, she was an avid ball room dancer having been a member of the Amateur Dance Club in Charleston. She will be fondly remembered for her love of gardening.
Surviving are: two daughters, Lynn Bryan Griffin and her husband Lyle and Rhynn Bryan McMinn and her husband Bill both of Pittsburg, Texas; a son, Edward G. Bryan, Jr. and his wife Peggy of Charleston; two brothers, Ladson Risher and Jimmy Risher both of Walterboro; and four sisters, Faye Atwood of Charleston, and Ethel Hiott, Rudell Rivers, and Ida May Crosby all of Walterboro. There are four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren that also survive along with a host of nieces and nephews.
