Mrs. Ruby Louise Crosby Bennett, 76, of 118 Still Street, Walterboro, entered into her state of eternal rest Wednesday morning, June 30, 2010, at Heritage Health Care in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Friday afternoon, July 2, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Jefferies Blvd, Walterboro.
Mrs. Bennett was born March 22, 1934, in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late George Wesley Crosby and the late Hazel Ruby Hiott Crosby. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and will be fondly remembered for being a good southern cook.
Surviving are: her husband of fifty years, Mr. Eddie Lionel Bennett; two sons, Christian Edward Bennett of Travelers Rest and Paul Erwin Bennett and his wife Jan of Walterboro; a daughter, Gloria Beth Bennett Bridge and her husband John, Sr. of Walterboro; two brothers, O. J. Crosby and John Crosby both of Walterboro; and two sisters, Inez Johns of Lodge and Ruth Nichols of Parkersburg, West Virginia. There are eight grandchildren, Phillip Bennett, Adam Bennett, Barry Bennett and his wife Sheena, Michelle Bennett, Kayla Bennett, John Bridge, Jr., JoAnna Bridge and Tiffany Sullivan and her husband Rusty; as well as six great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by a son, Frederick Lionel Bennett and a granddaughter, Allie Marique Bennett.
