Mr. James Ronald Mock, Sr., 76, of Ehrhardt, entered into rest Thursday evening, March 7, 2024, at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Born December 14, 1947, in Estill, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Jack Herman Mock and Mildred Catherine Saxon Mock. He graduated from Wade Hampton High School. Ronald served his country faithfully in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a retired machinist from Delavan, Inc. in Bamberg and was the owner and operator of Ron’s Lawn Care Service. After his military service, he attended Orangeburg-Calhoun Tech and Denmark Tech, receiving his Associates Degree in Business Administration, as well as certificates in mechanincal drawing and small gas engine repair.
Ron was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, working on cars, and tinkering with anything he could. He especially enjoyed cutting grass for anyone who needed it. He loved his fur babies and taking care of any animal that came up on their property and adopting animals that needed a home. Anyone who knew Ron knew he was a kind-hearted, loving, great man that loved his family, friends, community and most of all, always put Jesus first.
Surviving are: his wife of 55 years, DiAnne Folk Mock of Ehrhardt; children, Christi Langdale and her husband Brent of Greer, James Ronald “Ronnie” Mock, Jr. and his wife Denise of Greenwood, and Brian Lamar Mock of Anderson; grandchildren, Tyler, Andrew, and Sam Langdale, Bryson, Brayden, and Bree Anna Mock, and Colin and Lawson Mock; sister, Linda Rahn of Islandton; sisters-in-law, Janice Mock of Walterboro and Kathy Ryan and her husband Shot of Ehrhardt; brothers-in-law, W.P. “Billy” Folk, Jr. and his wife Gloria of Ehrhardt and Ricky Folk and his wife Kim of Bamberg; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Mock; and brother-in-law, Kenny Folk
Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, March 16, 2024, at Mount Pleasant Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant Road, Ehrhardt. Interment will follow in Ehrhardt Cemetery.
