Mr. Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Laird, 65, of Altman Road, Hampton, entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 5, 2013 at his residence.
Graveside funeral services will be held 4 pm, Friday, January 11, 2013 in Browning Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Laird was born January 7, 1947 in Hampton County and was a son of the late Percy Lee Laird and Ruby Virginia Padgett Mixson. He served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force, having retired as an E-6 after 23 years of service. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are: his son, Shannon Lee Laird of Seattle, Washington; daughter, Jasha Leigh Sumpter and her husband Lee of Fairbanks, Alaska; brother, Ralph Danny Padgett of Estill; sisters, Vivian Johnson of Hampton, Jewell Smith and her husband Byrnes of Hampton, Pinkie Blocker of Hampton and Brenda Harmon and her husband Bobby of Hampton; and grandchildren, Levi Thomas Sams-Sumpter and Kailyn Fury Leigh Sumpter.
