Biography



Mr. Ronald M. Grainger, 65, of Prices Bridge Road, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. He was the husband of Edna Helen Byrd Grainger.

The service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at the Walterboro Chapel of The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Grainger was born March 6, 1947 in Mullins, South Carolina and was a son of the late Walker Lemond Grainger and Ida Edwards Grainger Skipper and step-son of late Willie M. Skipper. He retired from Cummins Diesel in Charleston after 27 years of employment. He was a member of the James Island Masonic Lodge and Omar Shrine Temple. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

Surviving along with his wife of 36 years; sons Michael Grainger and wife Kim of Loris, Ronald W. Grainger and wife Leslie of Aynor; daughter Michelle Thompkins and husband Johnny of Aynor; brother Levon Grainger of Charleston; 6 grandchildren; Brian, Ashley and Charlie Thompkins, Jadyn Grainger, Adrianna and Huckslee Grainger.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Colleton County Relay for Life, 5900 Core Road, Charleston, SC 29406.
