Ronald Edward Bell

Mr. Ronald Edward Bell, affectionately known by all as “Ron” age 52, entered into rest Tuesday evening, December 16, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at his home on Hudson Mill Road near Walterboro while under the care of Hospice Care of America.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon, December 20, 2014, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Forks Road, Islandton. The family will receive friends following the committal ceremony at their residence.

Born August 23, 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was a son of the late Clovis O. Bell, Sr. and the late Doris Rodenburger Bell. Ron worked a faithful thirty year career with Caterpillar in Summerville where he retired as a disassembly technician. He was a member of Jones Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church in Walterboro. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and tending to his yards. Cutting Grass as a favorite pastime and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his children, family, and friends.

Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Jolene Murdaugh Bell; two daughters, Jessica Crosby (Timmy) of Walterboro and Kristyn Bell (Justin Heath) of Walterboro; two he loved as his own children, Amber Brown of Islandton and Abby Wiant of West Ashely; two brothers, Clovis Bell, Jr. of Walterboro and David Bell of Cottageville; and two sisters, Mindy Ayers of Virginia and Amber Peck of Cottageville. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Mrs. Lucille “Nana” Murdaugh of Walterboro and his dear friend, Lee “Punky” McMillian as well as a host of other dear and loved friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Hospice Care of America for the love, care, and support they diligently provided to Ron and his family during his last days. Their nurses and staff to include Carol Gina, Ryan, Laura.
