Biography
Mr. Rogers Lavern Judy, 88, of Rehoboth Road, Cottageville, entered into eternal rest, Sunday, December 4, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Judy was born October 7, 1923 in Bowman and was a son of the late Rauley Judy and Vergie Cook Judy Shider. He served his country faithfully during World War II in the United States Navy and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Mr. Judy was a faithful member of Springhill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener.
Surviving are: his wife, Willie Breland Judy of Cottageville; children, James Judy and his wife Lois of Walterboro, John Judy and his wife Sheila of Savannah, Tracy Judy and his wife Sheri of Walterboro, Steven Breland and his wife Vickie of Cottageville, Kathy Nettles and her husband Floyd of Walterboro and Lisa Breland of Cottageville; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Wilson Judy; sons, Paul Judy, David Judy, Ronald Judy and Bill Breland; brothers, Calvin, Azell, Elbert and Niva Judy; and sister, Myrtie Williams.
