Mr. Rodney Elvie Cook, 77, of 1435 Maple Ridge Road, Walterboro, entered into his state of eternal rest Friday morning, January 22, 2010, at his residence under the care of Odyssey Health Care Hospice.



Mr. Cook was born July 1, 1930, in Itmma, West Virginia, and was a son of the late Walter Cook and the late Blanche Cook. He served his country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was a retired welder from Westvaco. He was of the Baptist faith.



Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Margaret Cline Cook; two daughters, Mary Busbee of Goose Creek and Rhonda Gibbons of Moncks Corner; two step-daughters, Theresa Gossett of Tennessee and Sandra Stafford of West Virginia; and four grandchildren. There are two surviving brothers and one surviving sister.
