Mrs. Rodgernell Cattels O’Quinn, 88, of Walterboro, entered into rest Friday, June 12, 2026, at her residence. She was the loving wife of sixty-six years to the late Mr. Lucas Dean O’Quinn.
Born March 18, 1938, in Cottageville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Rodgers Cattels and the late Rosanell Hoff Dandridge Cattels. She retired as a real estate agent following many years of dedicated work and will always be remembered as a talented artist who possessed an avid love for painting.
Surviving are: four children, Julie James (Tommy), Michael O’Quinn (Haley), Brian O’Quinn (Michelle), and Sheri Steen (Ron); eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, J. W., Marvin, Randolph and Clarence Dandridge.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to the following: The The Parkinson's Foundation, 5757 Waterford District Drive, Ste 310, Miami, FL 33126; or to the charity of one’s choice.
The family invites friends to gather with them in honor of her at 1 o’clock this Saturday afternoon, June 20, 2026, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Barry Morehead officiating.
