Mrs. Roberta Rilee Blocker, 87, Round O, entered into eternal rest Friday evening, December 20, 2024, at her residence. She was the wife of the late David Kermit Blocker.
Born May 25, 1937, in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Robert C. Rilee and Edna Willis Rilee Spell. She had been employed at Colleton Medical Center as a Physical Therapist Assistant as well as Pruitt Healthcare in Walterboro as a Nurse’s Aide. She had also served on the Cottageville Town Council. Mrs. Roberta loved life and lived it to its fullest. She loved fishing on the Edisto River, hunting at Jenkins Hunting Club, and crocheting throws and afghans. Most of all, she loved traveling across the country. She enjoyed camping across the Northwest and living in Oregon for twenty years with her best friend, Ron Waldo, and also enjoyed visiting her father’s farm.
Surviving are: her children, David R. Blocker and his wife Rita of Cottageville, Bonnie H. Youmans of Cottageville, and Sherry B. Driggers and her husband Robert of Round O; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Ronnie Rilee and his wife Connie of Portland, Oregon; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by two children, Stevie Blocker and his wife Jeanne, and Laurie Ammons Robinson; a great grandson, David Earl Ammons, III; and her sister, Betty (Mrs. Bryant) Rhode.
The family would like to especially thank Mrs. Roberta’s dedicated caregivers, Kelsie Ammons and Virginia Walker, for all the love and care they have given her.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
