In Indiana, he retired as a heavy equipment operator from Michigan City Water Works and was a member of Faith City Assembly of God where he was active in the churchs work. Locally the couple were members of Living Word Outreach Ministries. In his younger years, his love for music lead him to sing with his familys quartet group.
