Robert "Bobby" Lee Dukes

Robert “Bobby” Lee Dukes, 79, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Tuesday afternoon, June 20, 2023, at his residence.

Bobby was born March 30, 1944, in Walterboro; he was a son to the late Preston Brooks Dukes and the late Athelee Kinard Dukes.

Bobby had a passion for hunting and fishing and loved his farm greatly.  You could often find him riding his tractor; which was a favorite of his on the farm. Bobby dearly loved his dogs; Daisy, Susie, and Pixie.

Bobby is survived by: his wife of fifty-six years, Sylvia Dukes; sons, Robert Scott Dukes and David Lee Dukes(Donrie); daughters, Michelle Lee Stewart (Chris) and Sheri L. Petain; grandchildren, David Dukes, Jr., Jacob Dale, Kaylee Smith, Heather Phillips, Taylor Christner, Nicholas Petain, Matthew Dukes and Harlee Dukes.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Fern Carr (John); who both were wonderful helpers during his illness.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Preston B. Dukes, Jr., and sister, Martha Stanley.

A memorial service will be held 11 o’clock, Monday morning, June 26, 2023, at The Brice W. Herndon & Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro.

The family will receive friends following the service.
