Robert Jones

Mr. Robert Wayne Jones, 56, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away Friday, January 9, 2009 at San Angelo Community Medical Center.



Funeral services will be held 11 oclock Thursday, January 15, 2009 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel, with Reverend Buck Reeves and Reverend Ralph Warren officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Ackerman Cemetery in Round O.



Mr. Jones was born January 19, 1952 in Walterboro, SC and was a son of Mary Elizabeth Reeves Jones Newton and the late Fairey Lanier Jones. He served his country for 12 years in the United States Air Force; and retired from Goodfellow Air Force Base after 22 years of civil service. Mr. Jones was an avid NASCAR and Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed music and playing the guitar, and was of the Baptist faith.



Surviving are: his mother and step-father, Mary Betty Newton and Leonard of Cottageville; children, Robert Wayne Jones, Jr. and Jessica Faye Jones; brothers, William D. Jones and his wife Debbie of Walterboro, Wilson Lanny Jones and his wife Minami of Anchorage, Alaska and Randall Jones and his wife Sandi of Baltimore, Maryland; sisters, Mary Diane Feole and her husband Terry of Westford, Massachusetts and Pamela Cascio and her husband Steve of Fitchburg, Massachusetts; special friends, Pat and Phyllis McCrohan of San Angelo, Texas and Sharon White of San Angelo, Texas; sister-in-law, Betsy Jones of Walterboro; many nieces and nephews; and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Jones; and a step-father, Ben Aldret.
