Walterboro, South Carolina

Mr. Robert Dennis Hudson, 70, of Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday evening, February 27, 2021, at Pruitt Health Care in Walterboro.

Born January 18, 1951 in Columbia, he was a son of the late Dennis B. Hudson and Elizabeth Wilson Hudson.  He was a retired corrections officer for Lieber Correctional Institute in Ridgeville. He was a Godley man who loved the Lord and was a member of Bedon Baptist Church, where he was known as “the Amen man”.  Mr. Robert was full of life who could always make you feel better and was a friend to everyone.  “PePaw” as he was affectionately known, was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family.

Surviving are: his wife of 48 years, Mary “Dottie” Murrell Hudson of Walterboro; daughters, Mary Hudson Cook and her husband Chuck of Walterboro and Melissa Hudson Kittrell and her husband Jamie of Sumter; grandchildren, Diane Cook (Chameo), Caroline Cook, Reba Tuten, (Cody), Clayton Kittrell, Dylan Kittrell, and Travis Kittrell; and great grandchildren, Olivia Reed, Natalee Wilson, and Kinley Tuten.

The family would like to especially thank Brenda Rijoas, Brittany Williams, Tia Stephens, Khalisha Crosby, Zaria Gantt, Kim Stuart and his roommate and buddy, Glen Foster for the loving care they have given to Mr. Robert.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pruitt Hospice.

A memorial service will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, March 20, 2021 at Bedon Baptist Church, Cottageville Highway, Walterboro.
