Mr. Robert Wilson Hoff, affectionately known by many as Billy, age 69, of Johns Island, entered into his state of eternal rest Tuesday morning, April 27, 2010, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston.



Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Saturday morning, May 1, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment with military honors provided by the United States Army will follow in Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak in Cottageville.



Mr. Hoff was born July 7, 1940, in Cottageville and was a son of the late Harry and Alice Hoff. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army and was a retired construction superintendent from Newton Builders. He was of the Baptist faith and will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing and NASCAR Motor Sports Racing.



Surviving are: his wife of forty-two years, Mrs. Charlotte E. Hoff; a son, James Dean and his wife Bonnie of Johns Island; two daughters, Peggy Robinson and her husband Jerome of Johns Island and Melissa Hoff of West Ashley; two brothers, Randy Hoff of Alabama and Neal Hoff of Johns Island; a sister, Jewel Gianelli, and a longtime family friend, Ruth McCullar of Johns Island. There are eight grandchildren, Anna Heath, Jason Johnson, Lila Dean, Jessie Dean, James Dean, Jr., Anthony Heyward, Jr., Ashley Heyward, and Erin Robinson as well as nine great grandchildren that also survive.
