Mr. Robert Wayne Carter, affectionately known by many as Bobby, age 54, of Walterboro, entered into his state of eternal rest Sunday morning, February 7, 2010, at the Hospice Center of Charleston in Mount Pleasant.



Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Tuesday morning, February 9, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel., Walterboro. Interment will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 152 Ruffin Road, Walterboro.



Bobby was the son of the late Luther W. Carter, Sr. and the late Mary Campbell Carter. He was a warehouse supervisor for Simmons Irrigation Supply, Inc. in Walterboro and was of the Baptist faith. He was a master mason and was a Past Master of Unity Masonic Lodge, No. 55, Ancient Free Masons in Walterboro and will be fondly remembered for his love of his family, being a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He possessed an avid love of hunting, and will be forever recalled for his willingness to help those he could.



Surviving are: his wife: Mrs. Sharon W. Carter; his six children, Christopher Lee Carter of Beaufort, Scottie Lee Carter and his wife Samantha of Yemassee, Rose Carter of Walterboro, Robert Anthony Carter of Walterboro; James Lee Carter and Betty-Ann Leigh Carter both of the home; two brothers, Luther W. Billy Carter, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Walterboro and James Ronald Carter of Ritter; a sister, Mary Anne Mullins and her husband Johnny of Knightdale, North Carolina; and his father and mother-in-law, Everett and Patricia Wilson of Canadys. There are two grandchildren, Jason Alex Carter and Samuel Carter; as well as several nieces and nephews that also survive.



Flowers will be accepted, or for those that desire, the family has suggested that memorials be directed in his memory to: Colleton County Relay for Life, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406.
