VARNVILLE- Mr. Robby Lee R.L. Smith, 84, of Varnville, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008.
Funeral services will be held 11 oclock, Thursday, August 21, 2008 at The Brice W. Herndon & Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment will follow in Grimes Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born October 7, 1923 in Jasper County and was the son of the late Riley Lee Smith and Mary Lee Smith. He was a retired employee of Westinghouse. Mr. Smith loved to joke and have fun and loved animals.
Surviving are: his wife, Lucille Folk Smith of Blackville; children, Charlotte Light of Varnville, Robert Smith of Hampton, Rose Mary Ferguson of Brunson, Dean Smith of Hampton and Earl Smith of Varnville; brother, Eugene Smith of Waynesboro, Georgia; sister, Mary Lou Robinson of Branchville; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
