Ms. Rita Lynn Hiott Shaw, 57, of Walterboro, SC entered into eternal rest after an extended illness on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Colleton Medical Center, Walterboro, SC.



A memorial service will be held 6 pm, Saturday, March 14, 2009 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel with Reverend Wayne Lucas officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.



Ms. Shaw was born June 25, 1951 in Walterboro, SC and was a daughter of Frances Brownlee Hiott Bailey and the late Richard Ransom Hiott. She was a graduate of Walterboro High School where she excelled in various sports. She was a former employee of the First National Bank of Orangeburg. She attended Grace Advent Christian Church. She will be remembered for her love for her son, grandchildren and family.



Surviving in addition to her mother of Walterboro are: one son, Thomas R. Shaw, Jr. of Walterboro; two grandchildren, Jordan Nicole and Curtis C.J. Shaw, both of Walterboro; twin brother, Richard Ricky G. Hiott and Mary of Walterboro; three sisters, Catherine H. Elkins and her husband Dean, Virginia H. Roessler and her husband Dane and Vicki H. Syfrett and her husband Billy, all of Walterboro; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent in her memory to Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Post Office Drawer 50, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
