Ricky Benton

Mr. Ricky Gordon Benton, 70, of Ruffin, entered into rest Saturday evening, March 19, 2022, at Colleton Medical Center.

Born October 27, 1951 in Colleton County, he was a son of the late Lee Richard Benton and Joan Elizabeth Varnadoe Benton.  He retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas, now Dominion Energy, in 2015, where he had worked as a meter reader.  He served his country in the South Carolina Army National Guard.  Ricky loved gardening and was an avid SC Gamecock fan.  Most of all he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are: his wife of 43 years, Jean Infinger Benton; children, Tara Dennis of Ruffin, Justin Benton and his wife Cari of Lexington and Jason Benton and his wife Jennifer of Grays; grandchildren, Wesley Dennis, Hunter Dennis, Graham Benton, Claire Benton, Vivian Benton, Ansley Benton, and Jaxson Benton; sister, Dale Seigler; and brother, Edward Benton.

A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday at Benton Family Cemetery.
