Richard Wise

Mr. Richard Newman Wise, age 67, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, September 3, 2015, at his home on Hi Ki Pen Road in Ehrhardt.

Funeral services with military honors will be conducted 12 noon Wednesday, September 9, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Ehrhardt.  The Reverend Mike Reid officiating.

Born April 26, 1948, a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Newman Wise and the late Alice Hartzog Wise.  He served our country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era as a Corporal.  He was a retired mechanic from the South Carolina Department of Transportation in Bamberg.  He was of the Methodist faith, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and shrimping.

Surviving are: his wife of forty-seven years, Mrs. Bertie Jane Bazzle Wise; three children, Charles Richard Wise (Melissa Crosby) of Hampton, Paul Newman Wise of Orangeburg, and Tammy Middour Roff (Ronald) of Ehrhardt; a brother, Paul Franklin Wise of Columbia; and six grandchildren, Christy Middour, Daniel Middour, Adam Roff, Zackary Roff, Kathy Jane Wise, and Charlotte Margaret Wise.
