Richard Heath

Mr. Richard Wayne Heath, affectionately known by many as “Dick”, age 77, of Medlar Lane, Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday morning, February 12, 2013, at his residence under the care of Odyssey Hospice.

A memorial service will be conducted 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, February 16, 2013, from the Walterboro Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1035 Dandridge Road, Walterboro, conducted by President Leon Bryan. Entombment will be held privately.

Born June 5, 1935, a native of Canton, Ohio, he was a son of the late Robert Arthur Heath and the late Edith Garber Heath. He resided in Canton, before making Walterboro his home for the past two years. For forty-three years, he was a maintenance supervisor for the Hoover Company in Canton, Ohio before retirement in 1995. Dick was loved by many, he was fond of Classic Cars and was active in many car clubs over the years. He will always be deeply loved and sadly missed by his loving wife Jean and all those who loved him. He was active with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Jean Cox Heath; a son, Don Heath of Canton, Ohio; a daughter, Denise McDannold of Canton, Ohio; a brother Jay Heath of Canton, Ohio; and a sister, Bonnie Tasch of Canton, Ohio. There are four grandchildren; and one great grandchild that also survives along with six step-children and thirteen step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Deborah Heath.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to a loving a supportive group who provided wonderful care to the Heath’s during Richard’s last days: Odyssey Hospice, 5965 Core Road, Suite 603, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406.
