Edisto Island, South Carolina

Mr. Richard Eugene Fisk, known by all as “Ricky”, age 61, of Edisto Island, entered into rest Saturday morning, September 27, 2025, at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston.

Born November 3, 1963, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was the son of Mr. Walter Eugene “Buck” Fisk and the late Mrs. Mary Linda Thompkins Fisk. He co-owned West Bank Construction Company on Edisto Island, a site prep and land clearing company that he successfully operated alongside his brother for many years. To say that Ricky loved the outdoors is an understatement. He dearly loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a longtime girls softball coach with Lowcountry Leadership Charter School in Meggett, South Carolina. He will always be remembered as “PawPaw” to his beloved grandsons. Everyone that knew Ricky, also knew his faithful Boykin Spaniel companion and hunting buddy, “Eugene”, whom he dearly loved and adored.

Surviving in addition to his father “Buck” and his wife Diane of Edisto Island are: his wife, Kathy Fisk; two daughters, Ashlynne Thomas and her husband Kevin of Ehrhardt and Abigail Fisk of Edisto Island; a sister, Pamela Bellknap and her husband Bruce of Saint Augustine, Florida; a brother, Kenneth Fisk and his wife Judith of Edisto Island; two grandchildren, Hutton and Bretton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Debbie Gorrell of Walterboro; a brother-in-law, Jeff Gorrell and his wife Jen; and a sister-in-law, Melissa L. Gorrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to: Lowcountry Leadership Charter School Girls Softball Team, 5139 Gibson Road, Meggett, South Carolina 29449.
