Rhonda M. Latham
September 16, 1948 — July 11, 2015
Mrs. Rhonda M. Latham, age 66, entered into rest eternal early Saturday morning, July 11, 2015, at her home on Forest Circle in Walterboro while under Hospice care.
Her relatives and friends are invited to attend The Rite of Burial which will be 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2015, from Saint Jude’s Church, 907 Wichman Street, Walterboro. The Reverend Bob Horowitz, Rector.
The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony.
Born September 16, 1948, a native of New York City, New York, she was a daughter of the late James Samuel Latham and the late Beryl Holzheimer Latham. She was a longtime resident of Brentwood, Tennessee, where she made her career and her life prior to making the Lowcountry of South Carolina her home during the Thanksgiving Holiday of 2011 moving to Daniel Island before eventually settling in the Walterboro community. In Brentwood, she worked for Vital Check where she retired as Director of the Vital Records Department. Rhonda made a lasting impression at her work, she ensured that those who worked under her were not only better prepared by always sharing her knowledgeable insight but as they went out in life that she helped in anyway should could to always help them in life.
She was a member of Saint Jude’s Church, The Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina, where she was active with the Pastoral Care Committee. Rhonda was a talented pianist and artist. She possessed a beautiful talent at crochet work and also was excellent with her free hand calligraphy. An avid animal lover, she provided a loving home to her constant companion and best friend, Tara who is a Standard Poodle.
Surviving are: two daughters, Mariahn Elaine Watkins (Allan McCall) of Nashville, Tennessee; and Ondrea Carter (Michael Carter) of Jacksonville, Florida; and two sisters, Tamara Beryl Latham of Brentwood, Tennessee and Eva Louise Latham-Day of Orange, Virginia.
