Rex Powell

Mr. Rex Allen Powell, 56, of Cottageville, entered into rest Monday morning, July 23, 2018, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Born August 28, 1961, in New London Groton, Connecticut, he was a son of the late Delbert “Ray” Powell and the late Lorraine Lavange Powell.   He was a longtime commercial fisherman, having owned the “Sweet Patootie” at Bennett’s Point.

Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. April Munion Powell; two daughters, Casey Powell of Cottageville and Mary Powell of North Carolina; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his two sons, Dustin and Jeremy Powell.

Funeral services will be conducted 5 o’clock Thursday afternoon, July 26, 2018, from the graveside at the Powell Family Cemetery in Cottageville.
