Mrs. Reba Wooten Altman, 67, of Campbell Street, Varnville, entered into eternal rest Monday, January 28, 2013 at UniHealth Post Acute Care of the Lowcountry in Estill.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Thursday, January 31, 2013 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment will follow in Gooding Cemetery.
Mrs. Altman was born March 13, 1945 in Hampton County and was a daughter of the late W.A. Wooten and Ethel Mock Wooten. She was a member of Huggin Oak Church of God. She loved cooking and having family gatherings and was famous for her homemade cakes and breads, but will especially be remembered for the love she had for her grandchildren.
Survivors include: her husband of 35 years, J.A. Altman of Varnville; children, Heyward Lee Smitty Smith, Jr. and his wife Sonja of Hampton, Allen Keith Smith and his wife Kathy of Varnville, Gregory Mark Smith and his wife Rhonda of Nixville, Bryan Lamar Smith of Varnville and Shannon Renee Moseley and her husband James of Varnville; brothers, Frank Crapse of St. Matthews and Thomas Crapse of Cummings; sister, Cora Cook of Cottageville; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; niece, Angie Topper of Fairfax; and nephews, Anthony Ginn of Fairfax and Jimmy Ginn of St. George. She was preceded in death by a son, J.A. Altman, Jr.
