Ray Woods, Sr.

Mr. Lloyd Ray Woods, Sr., 62, entered into rest Sunday, July 7, 2019, at his home on Edisto Island.

Born January 19, 1957, in Pineville, Louisiana, he was a son of the late Sidney Aubrey Jeane and the late Ruby Arilla Sumler Woods.  He served our country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps and was the former owner of Olde South Roofing.  Ray enjoyed volunteering his time at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston.  He will always be remembered as a well loved and goodhearted man.

Surviving are: three sons, Lloyd Ray Woods, Jr. and his wife Nicole, Michael Jeane Woods, and Brian Joseph Woods and his wife Ericka all of Edisto Island; the mother of his children, Renee P. Woods; two brothers, Ben Woods, Jr. and Bobby Woods; and four sisters, Jenny Leckie, Tequila Williams, Colinda Woods, and Lee Bright.  There are five grandchildren, Robert Daniel Garner, Victoria Rose Wilson, Lydia Grace Woods, Brian Joseph Woods, Jr., and Anna Leigh Louise Woods.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Leigha Kathleen Woods.

A memorial service will be conducted 6 o’clock Monday evening, July 15, 2019, from New Missionary First Baptist Church, 1644 SC-174, Edisto Island,  The Reverend Chick Morrison officiating.     The Burial with Military Honors will follow Wednesday morning, July 17, 2019, at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort.
