Mr. Ravnell Shaw, affectionately known by many as Rab, age 82, of 166 Chamblee Road, Walterboro, entered into his state of eternal rest Monday morning, October 11, 2010, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. He was the husband of sixty years to Mrs. Martha Louise Tootsie Filyaw Shaw, who died in February of 2010.



Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Thursday afternoon, October 14, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend James W. Williams, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.



Mr. Shaw was born April 18, 1928, in Florence, South Carolina and was a son of the late Charles Henry Shaw and the late Maude Poston Shaw. He was retired from the sales division of Simpson Meat Company in Georgia and was of the United Methodist faith. He will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing and gardening, as well as his love of the mountains where he spent the better part of his retirement before moving back to Walterboro.



Surviving are: his two sons, Thomas Ravnell Shaw, Sr. and his friend Judy Crosby of Green Pond and Charles Harris Harry Shaw and his wife Jane of Walterboro; three grandchildren, Thomas Ravnell Shaw, Jr. of Walterboro, Charles Bradley Shaw and his wife Jessica of Ladson, and Elizabeth Louise Shaw Houston and her husband Don of Illinois; and two great grandchildren, Jordan Nicole Shaw and Curtis Justin Shaw.
