Mr. Randy Kirkland Benton, 70, of Walterboro, entered into rest Sunday morning, December 23, 2018, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Born August 26, 1948 in Ruffin, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Curtis Kirkland Benton and the late Minerva Kinard Benton DeWitt. He worked for many years at Upchurch Forestry in Walterboro. Randy was an outdoorsman who possessed an avid love for fishing and hunting. He centered his live around those he loved, always enjoying visiting with others and always helping anyone that he could. He was also a talented small engine repair mechanic.
Surviving are: his wife of forty-eight years, Mrs. Florence Hudson Benton; two children, Lisa Benton Zeigler and her husband Preston of Walterboro and Kevin Benton and his wife Debra of Ruffin; two brothers, Rudolph Benton and Furman Benton both of Walterboro; and a sister, Hazel Robertson of Walterboro. There are five grandchildren, Anthony Trea Zeigler, Shelbi Nicole Davis, Ryanna Benton, Tanner Lee Benton, and Jordan Olivia Benton; and two great grandchildren, Ryan Marion Davis, Jr. and Raylinn McKannah Davis that also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, December 26, 2018, from the graveside at Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. The Reverend Godfrey Ritter officiating.
