Biography

Mr. Randolph Frederick Bunton, Sr., 76, of Wiggins Road in the Wiggins Community of Green Pond entered into rest Sunday morning, January 19, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at home while under the care of Hospice of America.

Funeral service will be conducted 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, January 21, 2014, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.

Born October 15, 1937, a native of Wiggins, he was a son of the late Cecil Bunton and the late Bessie Ruth Beach Bunton. He was a retired welder with Boilermakers Local No. 687 in Charleston. He will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing the Chehaw River, as well as shrimping and crabbing. Randolph will also be remembered for the loving compassion he showed others, quickly having become a father figure to many during his lifetime.

Surviving are: his wife of fifty-five years, Mrs. Frances Sykes Bunton; four sons, Randolph Frederick Bunton, Jr. and his wife Debra of Soperton, Georgia, Charles Dennis Bunton and his wife Jennell of Wiggins, Timothy David Bunton and his wife Kathy of Wiggins, and Troy Steven Bunton and his wife Lynn of Wiggins; a daughter, Judy Vinluan and her husband George of Smoaks; and three sisters, Doris Sprang of Laurens, Lillian Estelle of Goose Creek, and Faye Bryan of Charleston. There are seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren that also survive. He was preceded in death by a grandson.
