Biography

Mr. Ralph Schneider Hockett, II, 61, of Cottageville, entered into eternal rest Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Colleton Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 12 pm, Friday, February 17, 2012, at Beaufort National Cemetery.

Mr. Hockett was born February 15, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was a son of the late Ralph Schneider Hockett, Sr. and Virginia Brouhard Hockett. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing until he was no longer able. Most of all, he loved the Lord and loved his family, always putting them and their needs before his own.

Surviving are: his wife, Christie Burch Hockett of Cottageville; daughter, Taci Hockett of Cottageville; grandchildren, Lilleana Lynn Hockett and Jeremiah John Hockett; mother-in-law, Esther "Jo" Burch of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Connie Kineman of Wyoming, Michigan, and Nancy Blain and her husband Roger of Middleville, Michigan; best friends, Marvin and Starla Banther of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Danny and Doris Barden of Plymouth, Indiana; brothers, David Hockett and Chester Hockett, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters, Virginia Ruth Hockett, Linda Meyer, and Sally Lamping, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; 3 nephews; and 3 nieces.
