Raleigh "Buddy" Green Ayer

Mr. Raleigh Green Ayer, 64, of Olar, South Carolina, entered into rest Monday morning, April 12, 2021, at his residence.

Known by many as “Buddy”, Mr. Ayer was born November 11, 1956, in Bamberg County. He was a son to the late Louis Martin Ayer and Loraine Ophelia Jones Ayer.   For most of his life he worked alongside his father, helping him run and operating the family land clearing business.  In his spare time you would often find "Buddy" fishing or something outdoors related.

In addition to his mother, he is surviving by his three sisters, Judy Carter and her husband Kim, Shirley Funderburk and her husband Brad and Sandra Chavis all of Olar, South Carolina. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Louis "Marty" M. Ayer, Jr.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 o’clock Thursday morning, April 15, 2021, at the St. Johns Baptist Church Churchyard, 2468 St. John’s Church Road, Ehrhardt, South Carolina 29081.  The Reverend Mike Reed will be officiating.
