Ms. Pinkie Laird Blocker, 66, of Brunson, entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at First Christian Church. Interment will follow in Hampton Cemetery.
Ms. Blocker was born March 2, 1948 in Hampton and was a daughter of the late Percy Lee Laird and Ruby Virginia Padgett Laird. She was a retired waitress and worked at Huddle House for over 40 years. She attended First Christian Church. She will always be remembered for the love she had of cooking for her family and friends and for the love she had for her grandchildren.
Surviving are: her children, William Billy Simmons of Brunson, Kevin Simmons and his wife Shirley of Garnet, Sonja Simmons Kersey of Hampton, and Teresa Freeman and her husband Sammy of Cleveland, Mississippi; brother, Danny Padgett of Estill; sisters, Jewell Smith and her husband Byrnes of Hampton, Vivian Johnson of Hampton, and Brenda Harmon and her husband Bobby of Hampton; grandchildren, Tiffany Simmons, Heather Simmons, Brian Simmons, Jamie Simmons, Tristie Reinhardt, Ashley Smith, Kelli Kersey, Caleb Soto, McKenna Soto, and Kendall Cole; and great grandchildren, Aiden Ferguson, Lucas Reinhardt, and Chad Allen Sibley. She was preceded in death by a brother Ronnie Laird.
