Mr. Peter Van Egmond, a ragamuffin child of God, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday morning, August 26, 2009. He was 63.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Friday morning, August 28, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Fr. Marshall Huey, Vicar. Interment will follow in the Old Saint Andrews Episcopal Church churchyard, 2406 Ashley River Road, Charleston.
Peter was an innovative businessman but more importantly an advocate for troubled youth. He was a public relations manager for the Billy Graham Golden Horseshoe Crusade in 1988 that brought many souls to Christ. Peter lived his life with faith and devotion to his God and his family.
Surviving him are: his Sunshine of forty-six years, Mrs. Anne Dena Van Egmond; their children, Dwayne and Diana Van Egmond, and their children Riley and Abigail of Burlington Ontario, Canada; Lisa and Nick Hoekstra of Burlington Ontario, Canada; Kimberley Van Egmond of Charleston; Peter Van Egmond of Cottageville; and Thomas Van Egmond of Los Angeles, California. He was deeply loved by his nieces and nephews in Canada and his best friend, Tony Van Es and his family, as well as his dear friend, Paul Clark.
