Pete Gosnell

Mr. Peter Jerome Gosnell, Sr., affectionately known to everyone as “Pete”, age 74, of Brunson, passed away on Saturday morning, March 27, 2021 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Betty Jean Stanley Gosnell.

Born June 21, 1946 in Frankfurt, Germany, he was a son of the late Benjamin Jerome Gosnell and Julia Owen Gosnell.  He was a retired gas truck driver.  Mr. Pete was a faithful and dedicated member of Hampton First Christian Church, where he was an Elder Emeritus.  He was a true Christian man who dearly loved his church and showing God’s loved to everyone he met.

Mr. Pete enjoyed talking on his Ham Radio and was a Ham Radio Extra.  He enjoyed talking to people all over the world, including the space station. He was an active member of CoCoRaHs, a volunteer weather reporting program, and never missed a report for over 10 years.  He was an avid gardener. Of all the things he enjoyed, most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his granddaughters.

Surviving are: his son, Peter Jerome “Jerry” Gosnell, Jr. and his wife Karen of Hampton; granddaughters, Kayla Elizabeth Gosnell and Marianna Charlotte Gosnell; his very special friend, Virginia Sumler; sister, Ann Gosnell of Hendersonville, North Carolina; two nephews, Ryan and David; and his sidekick, KC, his Boston Terrier.  He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Anthony Gosnell.

A graveside service will be held at 11 o’clock, Monday morning, March 28, 2021 at Browning Cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at their home, 109 Pine Street West, Hampton.
