Mrs. Peggy Jean Smith, 59, of Ulmer Lake Drive, Walterboro, entered into her state of eternal rest Friday afternoon, July 16, 2010, in Marion County, South Carolina from injuries sustained during an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Tuesday morning, July 20, 2010, from Zion Baptist Church, 152 Ruffin Road, Walterboro. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
Mrs. Smith was born May 14, 1951, in Hartsville, South Carolina, and was the daughter of the late Grady Dozier and the late Mary Schaffer Dozier. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Walterboro and was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross, helping with many local blood drives. Peggy loved her church, as well as reading and taking care of her birds.
Surviving are: her husband, Mr. Richard Keith Ricky Smith; two sons, Mark Bullock of Lexington and Captain Michael Bullock (USAF) and his wife Niki stationed at Gulf Breeze, Florida; two brothers, Billy Dozier and his wife Debbie of Barnwell and George Dozier and his wife Kathy of Whispering Pine, North Carolina; and three sisters, Grace Parrott of Florence, Lilly Mae Poston and her husband Randall of Darlington, and Jewel Dew of Conway. There is one grandson, Michael Bullock and one grandchild expected in the next coming weeks; as well as two special friends, Beth Atkins of Knoxville, Tennessee and Wanda Ahl of Walterboro.
