Peggy Hunt

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Peggy Lou Hunt, who left us early morning March 29, 2025, at the age of 61, after losing her long battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones. Full of love, laughter, and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her.

Peggy was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on May 19, 1963. She was predeceased in death by her mother, Velera Martin, her father, Courtney Johnson, and her sister, Patsy Hunt. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Rusty Hunt, her children, Jonathon Burris (Kimberly Burris), Heather Oliver, Courtney Harper (Nicole Linkous), Kari O'Quinn (Casey O'Quinn), her grandchildren, Hayley LeMaster, Kynzli Bauerle, and Piper Burris, and her sister Sue Gentry.

She was a dedicated and hardworking individual, with a distinguished 25-year career at RoHoHo, Inc. She found joy in life on the lake, and her family was her greatest love and pride. Known as 'Momma' to many, she was a symbol of warmth, love, and acceptance to all who knew her. A woman of incredible strength, she fought tirelessly with unwavering determination until the very end.

To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, visitation will be held in her honor Wednesday evening, April 2, 2025, from 6 until 8 pm, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The funeral service will be held 11 o’clock, Thursday morning, April 3, 2025, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman.
