Miss Pearl Lynn Barr, lovingly known by many as Pebbles, age 13, of Red Oak Road, Cottageville, entered into her state of eternal rest Tuesday evening, April 20, 2010, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston following a long and courageous battle with osteosarcoma cancer.



Funeral services will be conducted 3 oclock Sunday afternoon, April 25, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Haskell Parler officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Barr Cemetery, located on the family property, 3631 Red oak Road, Cottageville.



Born December 7, 1996, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina she was a daughter of Mr. Donald Edward Barr, Jr. and Mrs. Tammy Lynn Barr. She was currently a sixth grade student at Colleton Middle School in Walterboro, where she was a cheerleader with the schools B-Team Cheerleading Team and was the Mascot of the Colleton County High Schools Varsity Cheerleading Team. She possessed an avid love for painting, an art she was very skilled at, and horses, fishing the local creeks and riding horses. She also loved to hunt, and on a recent hunting excursion with her father to New Mexico had the privilege of harvesting a trophy Elk and also in this past year had killed a record American White Tail deer. She had entered and received trophies and accolades for many beauty pageant contests.



Surviving in addition to her parents, Donny and Tammy Barr of Cottageville are: two sisters, Dana Marie Barr of Summerville and Crystal Lynn Barr, whom she affectionately referred to as Sissy of the home; her maternal grandparents, Judy Herzog and her husband Phil of Bowman and Ken Egbert of Flower Mound, Texas; and her paternal grandparents, Donald and Leona Barr, whom she affectionately referred to as Pap Pap and Loie. There is one niece, Patricia Marie Bosley; and one nephew, Dylan Thomas Bosley that also survive.



Flowers will be accepted, or for those that wish, memorial contributions may be directed in her memory to the Pearl Barr Memorial Fund, which has been established through Wachovia Bank, and can be made through any local branch.
