Paul Shoultz

May 9, 1927 — September 16, 2016

Mr. Paul Shoultz, 89, of Estill, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.  He was the widow of the late Doloris Martin Shoultz.

The funeral service will be held 3 pm, Monday, September 19, 2016 at Lighthouse Church in Hampton.  Burial will follow in Lawtonville Cemetery, Estill.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1 until the hour of service at the church.

Mr. Shoultz was born May 9, 1927 in Columbia city, Indiana, and was the son of the late Perry and Lily Shoultz.  He was a former insurance agent, farmer, owned and operated a carpet cleaning business for many years, and was a retired plant manager from JP Stevens in Allendale.  He served his country faithfully in the Merchant Marines, having served in World War II.  He was a member of Lighthouse Church.  In 1963, he purchased the land and founded the First Nazarene Church in Estill.  He loved restoring old tractors and loved spending time leading services at area nursing homes for many years.

Surviving are: his daughters, Debra Hosford of Flovilla, Georgia, Jeanne Harter of Fletcher, North Carolina, and Rebecca Kowalewski of Estill; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Schrader.
