Mr. Paul Kisler Hooker, Sr., 83, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, October 15, 2022 at the Veteran’s Victory House in Walterboro.
Born December 28, 1938 in Walterboro, he was a son of the late Erwin Ward Hooker and Lula Willis Hooker. He served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Paul retired as a Postmaster for the United States Postal Service, where he had worked for over 30 years. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Walterboro First Baptist Church and was a member of the Gene Alexander Sunday School Class. Mr. Paul loved woodworking and especially loved working with the Nails and Hand group, building ramps or anything they could to help someone who needed it.
Surviving are: his wife of 62 years, Ann Maxey Hooker of Walterboro; children, Kip Hooker and his wife Valerie of Charleston and Toni Hooker and her wife Sonya of Salisbury, North Carolina; grandchildren, Austin Hooker and Remley Hooker; brothers, Erwin Hooker and his wife Martie of Walterboro and Danny Hooker of Walterboro; many nieces and nephews; as well as a special caregiver, Tina Matthews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Al Hooker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Walterboro First Baptist Church, 124 South Memorial Avenue, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.
Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Monday afternoon, October 17, 2022 at Glendale Memorial Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. The Reverend James W. Williams, Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
