Biography
Mrs. Patricia Ann Couch, 67, of Walterboro, entered into her eternal rest Thursday morning, June 23, 2011, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.
Funeral services will be conducted 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, June 26, 2011, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.
Mrs. Couch was born July 5, 1943, in Columbia, and was a daughter of the late Frank A. Brazell and the late Rosalee Hare Brazell. She dedicated her life to her family and stayed faithful to her husband as his career in the United States Navy took them from one assignment to another until his retirement in 1968, and in 1972 made Walterboro their home. She was employed by J.P. Stevens in Walterboro where she worked in the cloth room and was also a graduate of Orangeburg Technical College with a degree in Geriatric Nursing. She loved to read, travel to the mountains in the fall, yellow flowers and hummingbirds, cooking and listening to the Gaithers. However, she will be most remembered for her perfect hairstyle, and her love for fishing and Braves baseball.
Surviving are: her husband of forty-nine years, Wayman Brady Couch, Sr.; a son, Wayman Brady Couch, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Guyton, Georgia; three daughters, Daphne Wilson and her husband J. Dawson, Donna Beasley and her husband Gill, and Dianna Pope and her husband James all of Walterboro; a brother, Frank Brazell, Jr. of Columbia; and two sisters, Ruby Lee Sanderson of Walterboro and Elizabeth Ann Hudson of Ruffin. There are nine grandchildren and one great grandchild that also survive.
