Mr. Nick Pete Woovis, Jr., 89, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Colleton Medical Center.
Born January 19, 1931 in Sumter, he was the son of the late Nick Pete Woovis, Sr. and Lilly Partin Harrell. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Nick worked for many years as a gunsmith at Brown’s Hardware and then owned his own shop, Nick’s Gunsmith. He loved to cook and was proud of his Greek heritage. He made a mean baklava and shared his wonderful food with his community at his restaurant, Nick’s Deli in Walterboro. He loved his animals, loved working with the public, but most of all loved his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are: his wife, Sara Sauls Woovis of Walterboro; children, Georgie Woovis and his wife Shannan of Lexington, Niki Woovis of Charleston, Tad Woovis and his wife Mary of Charleston, Rhonda Wentworth and her husband Terry of Reevesville, and Christopher Smoak and his wife Liz of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Riley, Hannah, Caleigh, Tanner and Christopher; great grandchildren, Silas, Bailey, and Piper; and a special friend, Mr. Manning of St. George.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, December 16, 2020 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Hendersonville Highway, Walterboro.
