Biography

Mrs. Nellie Brock Creel, 66, of Hathaway Lane, Cottageville, entered into rest Wednesday morning, April 2, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon, April 5, 2014, from Little Rock Holiness Church, 20991 Augusta Highway, Cottageville. The Reverend Dr. John Glenn Creel and The Reverend Clay Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard.

Born April 16, 1947, a native of Abbeville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late S.A. and Mallie Brock. Nellie was a very loved and special lady within her community. She was well known though her work with her family's business and faithful service in her church, Little Rock Holiness Church where she had been a member of the Choir and was a former Sunday School Teacher. She will always be remembered for the love she possessed for others and her wonderful talents at baking, especially her cakes: red velvet, coconut, chocolate, and peach crunch.

Surviving are: her children, Penny Hernandez and her husband Augusto of Cottageville, Larry Dean Creel and his wife Jeannie of Lavonia, Georgia, Vivian Redondo of Cottageville, and Nellie Marie Martin and her husband James of Honea Path and their father, Larry Lee Creel; and a sister, Jessie Davis of Due West. There are seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchild that also survives as well as several nieces and nephews.
