Ned Earl Plunkett, Jr.

Walterboro,South Carolina

Ned Earl Plunkett, Jr., of Walterboro, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning, December 29, 2021, at his residence.

Born July 1, 1944, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, he was a son to the late Ned Earl Plunkett, Sr. and the late Lillian Ulmer Plunkett.  He was married for the last sixteen years to Mrs. Louella Jean "Jeanie" Plunkett.

Ned attended the University of South Carolina as a business major before enlisting and becoming a veteran of the United States Navy.   He was an avid fan of The Beatles, attending numerous concerts and over the years became collector of memorabilia.  Ned possessed a great love for the outdoors and he shared a passion for boating and fishing with his wife.

In addition to his wife, Jeanie, he is survived by his sons, Ned Earl Plunkett, III (June), and Patrick Plunkett (Johnna); step-children, Connie Miller (Billy) and Joseph Pipkin, Sr.; several grandchildren; and his brothers, Paul Plunkett and Richard Plunkett (Rose).

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Edward Plunkett.

A memorial service will be conducted 3 o’clock, Wednesday afternoon, January 5, 2022, at the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel.   The family will receive friends following the service.
