Mrs. Nancy Stevens Kinard, 75, of Bama Road, Cottageville, entered into her eternal rest Sunday morning, October 21, 2012, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.

The Funeral ceremony will be conducted 5 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, October 23, 2012, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend James Pedigo officiating.

Following the funeral ceremony a reception will be hosted in her memory at the Walterboro Elks Lodge, 236 Milestone Lane, Walterboro.

Born December 30, 1936, a native of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Clarice Stevens, having made the Colleton County area her home for the past thirty years. She was a retired branch manager from Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union in Walterboro and was of the Lutheran faith. She was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks – Walterboro Lodge No. 1988, where she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary having served as the group’s President for numerous terms. She was the First Lady of the South Carolina State Elks Association in 2005. Nancy will always be remembered for her warm smile and sweet gentle fun loving spirit. She was devoted to her loving husband and will always be remembered as a beloved icon at the Walterboro Elks Lodge.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-five years, Mr. Franklin Roosevelt “Frank” Kinard; three daughters, Reine Hay and her husband Floyd of Cottageville, Judy Hall and her husband Jeff of Leesville, Louisiana, and Vicki Kinard and her husband Bill of Walterboro; a brother, Jack Stevens of Bolivar, Missouri; and two sisters, Margie Swengen of Stoughton, Wisconsin and Lois Cummings of Green Valley, Arizona. There are six grandchildren, Craig Martineau, Keri Page, Kenneth Hay, Dylan Kinard, Bryce Kinard, and Ben Hall; and three great grandchildren, Lexcie Page, Lydia Dimas, and Adam Dimas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Stevens and James Stevens; and three sisters, Phyllis Ostrowski, Frances Staude, and Betty Stevens.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to: Colleton County Relay for Life, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, South Carolina 29406.
