Biography

Mrs. Nancy A. Chassereau Gregory, 69, of Chassereau Place, Ruffin, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Roper Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Friday, October 28, 2011 at Ruffin Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Doctor's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Gregory was born October 29, 1941 in Ruffin and was a daughter of the late Cecil James Chassereau and Zelma Wilson Chassereau. She was a former Teacher's Aide at Bells Elementary and had also worked in the lunchroom at Colleton Preparatory Academy. She was an active member of Ruffin Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Director and was active in planning the Memorial Day Service at the church. She devoted many hours every year to the Colleton County Relay for Life, worked the Ruffin polls for the Voter's Registration office, and was an avid genealogist. Mrs. Nancy loved farming and taking care of her cows, but anyone who knew her, knew she was famous for her delicious cakes.

Surviving are: her husband, Daniel Clifton Gregory, Sr. of Ruffin; children, Daniel Clifton Gregory, Jr. of Swansea, S. Michael Bishop, Jr. of Ruffin and Ann Mobley of Rincon, Georgia; grandchildren, Annie Katherine Gregory, Brittani Jamie Jo Gregory, Heather Paige Mack and Daniel James Gregory; great grandson, Gage Wright; and many dearly loved cousins.
