Myrtle Metts Missel

Mrs. Myrtle Metts Missel, 87, entered into rest Monday morning, January 7, 2019, at her home in Cottageville.  She was the loving wife of the late Mr. Charles H. Missel, Jr.

Born April 27, 1931, in Cottageville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas Metts and the late Nellie Hoff Metts.  She was a switchboard operator for Southern Bell, having retired from their Charleston Branch.   She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church in Cottageville and was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in her memory to:  Spring Hill Baptist Church, care of 2682 Wesley Grove Road, Cottageville, South Carolina 29435.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Friday morning, January 11, 2019, from the graveside in Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak, Red Oak Road, Cottageville.   The Reverend Bobby Ethridge officiating.
